Dissipative cooling of spin chains by a bath of dipolar particles
Dissipative cooling of spin chains by a bath of dipolar particles
We focus on selective reflection, one of the main spectroscopic probes of Casimir-Polder interactions. We calculate selective reflection spectra using the full, distance dependent, Casimir-Polder energy shift and linewidth.

Our first blue magneto-optical trap.
We study spin mixing dynamics in a chromium dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate, after tilting the atomic spins by an angle 𝜃 with respect to the magnetic field.

The bake-out is completed, the blue laser system is in place. Oven loading and laser cooling come next.
